Rider error resulting in humiliating loss of equipment and other personal possessions. A yard sale or wipeout (not to be confused with a whiteout) refers to a momentary lapse in rider judgement or execution that results in the rapid, unplanned removal of gear including but not limited to skis, poles and goggles.
