GearWax Your Ride The Eco-Friendly Way

It used to be the case that any wax you bought for your board or planks would contain toxic fluorocarbons, these would dissolve into the snow pack and end up in the environment, obviously this isn’t good! Fortunately there are an increasing number of more eco friendly options – most of the major wax brands have a readily available eco alternatives. Whilst fluorocarbon waxes will eventually be a thing of the past, even the FIS banned their use in competition from the 2020-21 season onwards, most of us still have these waxes containing carcinogenic “forever chemicals”, on our shelves ready for the waxing iron. The good news is that there are an increasing number of initiatives to recycle and even in some case buy-back these waxes (JFGI). Another option would be to look at use a one time application product like DPS Phantom which claims to eliminate the need for waxing altogether…
