Freeride RepublicManifesto

Lore #01: FreeRide Is For Everyone

Let’s have a good time, together.

Welcome to the FreeRide Republic Manifesto. It’s the stuff we feel is important for a flourishing, collaborative and healthy community. We’ve tried our best to make it short and easy to understand, it describes our vision, our mission, our values and how our lores bind us together.

We’d love to know how you feel about it – let us know here.

Our Vision: FreeRide For All

The FreeRide Republic was founded on a chairlift by three old white dudes. Their vision is a FreeRide world where everyone is welcome, where riders share the stoke and treat each other with respect, where everyone comes together to collaborate for the good of the community and the good of the mountains. A future where everyone makes a difference by freely sharing knowledge & experience and by speaking with one voice when it matters.

Our Mission: Build A Republic

A place where riders come together to share the stoke, share knowledge and share our respect for the mountains and each other. As a republic of like-minded riders we have a social purpose to advocate for change where it’s needed and to speak with one voice when it matters.

Our Values: Stoke and Respect

True to our vision, the FreeRide Republic is founded on the twin values of Stoke and Respect. We believe these are inseparable. It’s not one or the other that defines us as FreeRiders but both in tandem. Sometimes they’re in perfect harmony, other times not so much but, however complicated things get, they’re forever interconnected and we have to account for both.

Stoke – on its own is super simple, it’s unencumbered joy. If we’re not feeling it then something could be wrong. We believe you should trust that instinct and act upon it.

Respect – for ourselves, each other and the mountains – is also pretty obvious. Who doesn’t want to give and receive a little respect, right?

Our Lores

These are woven with our values, they help join ideas and actions. If you respect yourself you’ll know #13: Sleep is Cool, if you respect others and the mountains you’ll #04: Ride Kind. If you live for the stoke you’ll #07: Never Stop Learning and you probably already know to #21: Get It Fresh. We don’t want to tell you how to live your FreeRide life, or even #420: Don’t Eat Yellow Snow (although it’s not recommended). We’re just sharing what we believe makes good FreeRide sense and what binds us together.

Lore Entry #39

"First Chair Means First Chair"

"Always remember, you don’t have to get up early to have the best day, but If you agree to first chair, you make first chair. Snowflakes over flakes."
