ski fundamentals - / ˈski: ˌfʌndəˈmentl̩z / -
noun
The use of Pressure, Edge and Rotation to control speed and direction of travel when skiing. All skiing is a combination of these fundamentals, there are infinite combinations and ratios of these three elements even at different points in the same turn let alone in different snow conditions. Some definitions also include Centre of Balance. It's not that we think Centre of Balance isn't important (it really is) but at the Republic we just feel that it's achieved by the correct application of pressure, edge and rotation so we didn't include it here. Plus we like things that come in threes. Don't shoot us.
\\ Making those tight turns on that steep pitch was a great test of your ski fundamentals.
