Val Thorens is one of several resorts in the Vallée des Belleville, along with Les Menuires, Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and the tiny Le Bettex. There are no patrolled FreeRide areas but there is a serious amount of non-patrolled FreeRide lines to ride directly from the lifts / pistes or a short boot pack / skin away. In addition there is super easy access to huge sidecountry and backcountry. The Val Thorens lift pass covers a decently large area, however upgrading to the Les 3 Vallées pass gives you access to more FreeRide terrain than you could ski in a multiple seasons.
