It's very easy to scope this line from the OR4 Peyron chairlift. Access is from the La Croix d'Antide piste but be sure to drop in at the right point. The rock band you are dropping through is about 150m in height so a wrong turn is undesirable. Invest some time scoping the line in advance and you will figure it out.
No special tech is required. It's a simple ski in - ski out scenario.
There's good stoke to be had in this line. It may be easy to access and exit and does not require any special gear but it's technical in places and in full view of all the lift infrastructure. You can be sure that people will be watching and assessing your performance.
Once you are sure you're in the right spot this is fairly low gnar. A fall is undesirable but isn't likely to result in anything more serious than a bruised ego.
Pull this off in front of an audience and you'll feel awesome. We did it at the end of the day, providing much needed entertainment for the half-term crowd waiting to download on the OR1 Orelle gondola.
Snowcat Couloir, so named because you drop through the rock band onto the Snowcat carpark in front of the Plan Bouchet lift infrastructure.
