Ski outA sweet detour through the trees that connects the Gravelles and Plan du Vah pistes in Courchevel 1650.
Head down the Gravelles blue piste until you get to piste marker number 4 (see photo). Exit skiers right down into a tree lined gully. Eventually you will pop out of the gully just above the Plan du Vah piste. There's only one way out and no chance to get lost or miss a turn.
No TSP, no party. As you will be riding through trees, helmet and goggles are also a must.
There's plenty of stoke to be had on this line. The pitch at the drop in is steep enough to get the pulse racing and the line narrows as you descend into the gully until you are bouncing around in a stream bed. On the right day it's super fun with lots of little pillows to hit that will raise the stoke still further. On the wrong day you risk getting wet feet!
There are the usual hazards you would expect in this kind of terrain but nothing to cause anything more serious than a few bruises and a dented ego.
The Plan du Vah is one of the best kept secrets in the Trois Vallees. This line is no exception.
The red line shows the connection between the Gravelles blue piste and the Plan du Vah red piste.
The No. 4 piste marker is skiers left as you descend the piste. The drop in is directly opposite.
