A fairly short hike up to the Rocher De La Loze is rewarded with a spectacular lunch spot. Nice traverse along the ridge and a nice steep drop back to the comfort of Courchevel 1850.

Access

You can scope the line from the Rocher De L'Ombre drag lift. Access is from the Dou Des Lanches chair, as you get off the chair the Rocher De La Loze is straight ahead and the start of the hike is a clearly marked trail to the left of the piste that leads to Meribel. Some people skin up but its not an easy skin and there's a steep section that needs to be bootpacked so myself and my ski buddy Chris always opt for bootpacking the whole way up. We usually take about 45 minutes. From just below the summit transition to ski mode and drop down to the left then a short sidestep section gets you back on the arete. Its then about 200 metres until you see bowl on the left, from the lip of the bowl is the drop in to the line.

Tech

I take an ice axe for the short steep section and crampons would also make things a little more secure but many people manage without any specialist equipment.

6

Stoke

Its stunning skiing along the ridge then from the drop in its pretty steep for the first 100 metres or so.

4

Gnar

It's steep but it's fairly broad couloir so I'd say say it's a bit gnarly.

8

Awe

The views from the summit are awesome then you ski along the arête with the spectacular peak of the Croix de Verdon straight ahead.
