An emergency locator device. A transmitter and receiver in one unit, operating at 457 kHz for the purpose of finding people buried under snow. Available in Analog & Digital versions with various levels of sophistication depending on manufacturer / model. Basic capabilities must include Transmit & Receive modes as well as directional and distance locators. More advanced functions include multiple burial mode and detection of vital signs.
