Ski outSuper easy entry and exit with a massively rewarding amount of vert after an exciting traverse along the top of the imposing ridge that sits between the Park City and Suisse pistes.
This line starts at the Sommet de la Vizelle and initially follows the Marmottes piste before peeling off riders left onto Park City. Follow the piste markers down to an imposing ridge that separates it from the Suisse black run. From here leave the pistes and start heading up the ridge towards the Gasex weather station. Once on the top of the ridge start contouring around the southern side, staying as high as possible while being sure not to stray onto the steeper pitches - these regularly avalanche so don't be tempted to ski down this side of the ridge.
Follow the ridge to the end and then ski in an easterly direction down to the top of the Aguille du Fruit chairlift. From here cross the path with the chairlift on your right and continue your descent across a second track a few metres below before choosing your line down to the trees that line the Creux piste. This section does stray across terrain over 30 degrees so know the avalanche risk before setting off and use safe travel techniques to mitigate any risk. You may even want to conduct a snow stability test at this point before dropping. Once on the Creux follow down to the Aguille du Fruit and Roc Mugnier lift stations.
Getting there is easy. Simply take any of the lifts that access the Sommet de la Vizelle.
What 3 Words entry point
///netting.guided.dealershipsWhat 3 Words exit point
///recorded.dilute.nimbleNo special tech is needed. This is one FreeRide run than can be accessed with standard alpine boots (but you'll most likely want some kind of all-mountain ride).
In the right conditions this line will blow your mind. It's in full view of the pistes and lift infrastructure so you'll need to be on your A-Game or risk FreeRide humiliation (don't worry, we've all been there).
It looks and feels much gnarlier than it is. Most of the line is under 30 degrees but contouring around the ridge feels exposed, especially if you're lucky enough to be cutting the first track.
With spectacular views across to the imposing Roc Mugnier there's plenty of mountain eye candy to feast on.
