We’re here to help you DREAM big, LEARN more, RIDE with friends and SHARE new lines.

Manifesto

Our Vision: FreeRide For All

The FreeRide Republic was founded on a chairlift by three old white dudes. Their vision is a FreeRide world where everyone is welcome, where riders share the stoke and treat each other with respect, where everyone comes together to collaborate for the good of the community and the good of the mountains. A future where everyone makes a difference by freely sharing knowledge and experience and by speaking with one voice when it matters.

Our Mission: Build A Republic

A place where riders come together to share the stoke, share knowledge and share our respect for the mountains and each other. As a republic of like-minded riders we have a social purpose to advocate for change where it’s needed and to speak with one voice when it matters.

Our Values: Stoke and Respect

True to our vision, the FreeRide Republic is founded on the twin values of Stoke and Respect. We believe these are inseparable. It’s not one or the other that defines us as FreeRiders but both in tandem. Sometimes they’re in perfect harmony, other times not so much but, however complicated things get, they’re forever interconnected and we have to account for both.

Stoke – on its own is super simple, it’s unencumbered joy. If we’re not feeling it then something could be wrong. We believe you should trust that instinct and act upon it.

Respect – for ourselves, each other and the mountains – is also pretty obvious. Who doesn’t want to give and receive a little respect, right?

Our Lores

These are nuggets of mountain wisdom, they aren’t laws or even rules, they’re the things that bind us together and make good FreeRide sense. When woven with our values, they help us join ideas and actions, you can find more about this by checking out our Republic Compass.

Founding The FreeRide Republic

It started like the beginning of a bad joke –  three dudes, one hippy, one wash-up, and one stoner riding a chair…….. doing what they always do — scoping for lines and talking shit. One said “Wouldn’t it be cool if we set down the Lores of FreeRide — all the things that bind us together, an antidote to the ‘no friends on a powder day’ shtick”.

That just snowballed….before long there was talk of founding an inclusive online community based on the values of Stoke and Respect. A place where FreeRiders could collaborate for the common good and for the good of the mountains. A place where FreeRiders share knowledge and experience, connect with each other, celebrate all things FreeRide and speak with one voice when it matters.

This was back in 2018, when optimism was running super high, everything seemed so simple……it turned out that putting the pieces together took a little longer than expected. Anyhow, here we are — Welcome to the FreeRide Republic — it’s great to have you join us.

Eureka....It's not only scouting for lines — sometimes inspiration strikes
