Ski outSuper fun fall line run with lift served access. Additional options riders left and right to get more fresh turns.
We’ve ridden this line many times, in pretty much all conditions. It’s best on powder days but can still feel fun when tracked out. It’s not super challenging but at almost 40 degrees with the main line being straight down and tree lined, it may appear initially intimidating. There are options to cut riders left and right from the entry point, cutting right through the trees accesses some wider easier lines.
Access to this line is super easy but also super easy to miss. From the top of the Roc Mugnier chairlift follow the blue Gentianes piste, keep a look out for piste marker 7, (currently on the riders right -see photo below) at this point you’ll need to cut left - there is sometimes but not always a cat track leading to the hut. Be aware the area is usually roped off, on more than one occasion we’ve seen powder frenzied free riders get the washing line treatment - funny but better avoided. The hut (photo below) will come into view riders left. Once there head around the right hand side, you’ll see the line clearly stretch out directly below you.
What 3 Words entry point
///lipstick.daffodil.sweetnessWhat 3 Words exit point
///hark.closed.documentingThis is beyond the piste markers and above 30 degrees, so make sure you have read and understood the avalanche bulletin. Transceiver, Shovel and Probe are a must. There aren’t any serious rocks but a fall could mean contact with a tree or two, so a helmet and back protector make sense to us at least.
This is always fun to ride, the stoke is somehow amplified, maybe as a result of being able to see the whole of the main line from the top and the way the valley funnels down from both sides. it could also be because a tumble will see you spilling onto the well travelled blue Gravelles piste below.
This can’t be described as GNARLY, the only obstacles are trees and even on the main line its pretty wide enough, there is certainly enough width to chose where turn if needs be.
There’s a great view across to the Suisses bowl, Courchevel 1850 Altiport and the snow cat station. You also have a fantastic perspective looking down to the base of the Roc Mugnier and Aguille Du Fruit chairs.
Hut Entry
The Line
This is where you’ll need to cut left across the piste. As reference - check out the skiers in the distance - they are on the cat track that leads to the hut.
