We take the free in FreeRide seriously – but our freedom is at risk. Every year more and more riders are accessing the backcountry without the knowledge or skills to keep themselves safe. As well as putting themselves in danger, it’s placing a heavy burden on state funded rescue resources which increases the likelihood that governments will take legislative action to restrict our access to the authentic mountain. This isn’t good for us or the mountain.
